In some situations
the walls are "dry-lined" instead of being rendered.
This process involves the application of plasterboards
which are cemented to the underlying wall or built up on
a wooden framework. The latter produces a "stud
partition" wall.
The walls are then
"skimmed" with plaster to give a uniform, smooth
finish.
